I hand make each pair of 14k solid white gold ear wire individually. These are a great way to enhance your favorite heirloom earrings or make yourself some new ones.
The ends and front loop of these earring hooks are hammered/flared and then sanded and smoothed for a nice comfortable fit. Once formed and finished I tumble them for several hours to give them added strength and shine.
Approximate Measurements:
Back Length: just a bit over 3/4" (about: 20mm)
Front Loop Length: 5/8" (about: 17mm)
Width: 7/16" (11mm) - almost 1/2 an inch
Wire Gauge: 20g (0.8mm)
Please note, I do not put a purity stamp on these 14k white gold ear wires. Due to how narrow wire is, the purity stamp would distort the ear wire and look more like a blemish or scratch. If you would still prefer a purity stamp. let me know during check out and I will be more than happy to stamp it for you.
IMPORTANT - For those with nickel allergies- How does white gold get it's color?
White gold (just like yellow gold) used for jewelry is achieved by blending 24kt gold (75%) and other metals (25%), also known as alloys to give it strength and durability. Alloys that are commonly used in gold are: copper, fine silver, silver, nickel, palladium and zinc.
Alloys like nickel, palladium or silver are what give white gold it's light gray color, durability and strength. For those that are allergic to nickel but want the white gold look, I would recommend palladium white gold, or platinum instead.
